The K3 Assault Rifle is a limited issue firearm, designed in Armenia in the mid-1990’s and only produced in small batches. It is used by Armenian Special Forces.
The K3 assault rifle is a bullpup firearm, based on the Kalashnikov AK-74 action. K3 uses the same AK-type gas operated long stroke action with rotary bolt, and similar trigger and safety system, except that the trigger is located in front of the magazine housing. The rifle can eject to the right side only, making left-side firing almost impossible. Feed is from standard AK-74 type box magazines.
It features integrated iron sights with an adjustable aperture-type (diopter) rear sight. Furniture (pistol grip, forend and butt-pad) is usually made of wood. An AK-74-type muzzle brake is modified to launch indigenous 3K-3 fragmentation-type rifle grenades using live ammunition as the propellant.
