MP-133 is a product of the Izhevsk Mechanical plant. Thisshotgun is an evolution of the earlier IZh-81 pump action shotgun, and is intended primary for civilian and security markets. It is produced in two basic versions (standard MP-133 with tubular magazine andMP-133K with detachable box magazine), and either version can be had in a variety of barrel lengths and styles, as well as in wooden or polymer furniture, with traditional fixed buttstock, side-folding (AK-74M type)polymer folding buttstock, or pistol grip and no buttstock.
The MP-133 shotgun uses traditional pump action with sliding forend that has dual action bars. Locking is achieved by a tilting locking piece, which is installed in the bolt and engages the notch in the barrel extension when in battery. Feed is from tubular underbarrel magazine which holds 4 rounds (capacity can be enhanced byinstalling magazine extension tubes). On MP-133K, a box magazine holding 5 rounds is inserted from below the receiver, with magazine catch located between magazine and trigger guard. Receiver of the MP-133 is made from aluminum alloy. Barrels can be easily removed, and available in a variety of lengths and styles (with ventilated ribs or with no rib and rifle-type sights). Barrels are equipped with interchangeable choke system.
