Sureshot SPEAR semi-automatic carbine (Russia)

Sureshot SPEAR semi-automatic carbine is a new and interesting hunting and tactical rifle, designed and manufactured in Russia by a private company Sureshot Armament Group (SAG). This company previously made a name as a designer and manufacturer of premium-grade tuning parts and s=chassis for Dragunov SVD / Tigr rifles and Kalashnikov AK-74M / 100 series / Saiga rifles. The “Spear” project was born in an attempt to create a powerful .308 win semi-automatic rifle which is as accurate as an SVD or Tigr, yet is also lightweight as a bare Saiga-308.

According to the manufacturer, Sureshot SPEAR semi-automatic carbine can shot 1.5 – 2 MOA groups with a quality factory ammo, and can reach 1 MOA accuracy at 100 meters with properly assembled custom loads.
To achieve stated goals, SAG designers created a machined steel Kalashnikov-style receiver, sized for a .308 Win / 7.62x51mm cartridge. This receiver offers a lightweight, yet sturdy construction, with an integrated side rail machined to the left wall, and integrated mounting points for a proprietary SAG chassis that includes a two-part top cover and a free-floating aluminum alloy forend. Barrels, gas system, bolt groups and trigger parts are purchased by SAG from their original manufacturers (Kalashnikov concern in Izhevsk or VPO Molot factory in Vyatskie Polyany). Barrels are re-crowned and threaded at the muzzle with a standard М14x1LH thread.

To complete the rifle, SAG installs Kalashnikov AK-Evo side-folding adjustable shoulder stocks from an AK-12 rifle, and a plastic pistol grip.
Each Sureshot SPEAR semi-automatic carbine can be equipped with a variety of day or night optical sights, using either a Russian military style side-rail or integrated Picatinny rails. A back-up iron sight is provided in the form of a non-adjustable diopter (aperture) rear sight, made integral to a removable top cover. To zero iron sights, user has to adjust the front sight in a typical AK manner.
Ammunition is fed from readily available Saiga-308 magazines with a standard capacity of 8 rounds. These rifles also compatible with various after-market magazines for Saiga-308, including the ones with a high capacity of up to 25 rounds.
