The Stribog SR9 semi-automatic carbine is a relatively new weapon, developed by Slovakian company Grand Power S.R.O. This company earned its fame through the development and production of an indigenous K100 semi-automatic pistol. First introduced in 2015, the Stribog is actually a family of weapons that include several semi-automatic versions for civilian use (with various barrel lengths and with or without a shoulder stock), and several select-fire submachine guns for governmental (police or military) use.

This carbine is a semi-automatic, pistol caliber weapon. It uses blowback action and fires from  a closed bolt. The trigger is based on the AR-15 design and several trigger parts are actually compatible with aftermarket AR-15 trigger parts.

Upper receiver is made from aluminum alloy, lower receiver is made from aluminum alloy in A1 versions or from polymer in A2 versions. It is attached to the upper receiver by two cross-pins. The pistol grip in A1 versions is a separate unit and is also compatible with AR-15 grips, in A2 versions pistol grip is integral to the lower receiver. Stribog carbine and ‘pistol’ (version without shoulder stock) feature fully ambidextrous safety levers and magazine release buttons.

The charging handle can be installed on either side of the gun, according to the preferences of the shooter. The weapon is fed using proprietary detachable box magazines, made from translucent plastic (polymer) and holding 10, 20 or 30 rounds. It is provided with integrated Picatinny / MILSTD rail at the top of the receiver, with built-in folding back-up iron sights.

The forend features KeyMod slots for the installation of optional accessories. Depending on the version, the Stribog can be equipped with a proprietary side-folding stock, made from plastic, or with an adapter for AR-15 carbine type stocks, or with no stock at all.
