The ORSIS K-15 semi-automatic rifle is intended for hunting and target shooting. First announced during Arms&Hunting expo in Moscow in 2017, it is now available for purchase for Russian shooters. Despite its “AR-15-styled” appearance, rifle has an indigenous construction and is produced in Russia.
ORSIS K-15 rifle is a semi-automatic, gas operated weapon which uses short stroke gas piston and manual 2-position gas regulator. Barrel is locked using rotary bolt with two large radial lugs. Upper and lower receivers are made from aluminum alloy and connected one to another by two cross-pins. Monolithic forend with KeyMod interface is also made from aluminum alloy. Rifle features bolt handle that can be set on either side of the gun, short-throw ambidextrous safety levers, and bolt hold open mechanism. Ammunition is fed from MAGPUL P-MAG 308 and compatible detachable magazines. No iron sights are provided by default, all sighting equipment is normally installed using Picatinny rail that is integral to the upper receiver. In basic configuration, rifle is fitted with AR-15 type telescoping shoulder stock, but upon customer order it can be fitted with other stock options, including side-folding shoulder stocks.
