7.62×63 PZ, PZA, PZAM “Snake”

The 7.62×63 PZ (“Snake”) integrally suppressed round was developed by techical R&D branch of the Soviet KGB in around 1961. Intended for clandestine use, it was loaded with standard 7.62mm bullet taken from 7.62×39 cartridge, and featured massive steel case with internal pusher piston, which, upon discharge, propelled the bullet atnd then locked powder gases inside the case, resulting in noiseless and flash-less shot. During its course of development it went through several improvements, resulting in PZa and PZAM versions. the only gun to fire this cartridge was soviet S4 / S4M pistol.
