The SIG-Sauer SSG 3000 rifle is a joint product of the SIG Arms (switzerland) and J.P.Sauer und sohn (Germany) companies, based on Sauer 200STR target rifle.

SSG 3000 is a bolt action, magazine fed rifle. The SSG 3000 features modular design with removable barrel/receiver group and trigger/magazine group. The bolt of the SSG 3000 has6 lugs and locks directly into the barrel. The barrel is cold hammer forged and has muzzle brake / flash suppressor. The triggers available in single or two-staged configurations, both ajustable for weight and lenght of pull. The original stocks were made from laminated wood and are fully ajustable, with ajustable cheek pieces; Recent SSG 3000 rifles, offered in the USA by SIGARMS, feature polymer McMillan stocks, that are also fully ajustable.SSG 3000 has no iron (back-up) sights. Standart telescope is a Hendsoldt 1.5-6x42mm scope, but a STANAG-compliant sight bases also available as an option.
