40mm VOG-25

VOG-25 Low velocity grenade

The VOG-25 family of low-velocity grenade rounds is intended for use in under-barrel and stand-alone grenade launchers developed in the USSR and in modern Russia.

These rounds are unique because the propelling charge is located at the base of the projectile. After launching there’s no spent case in the barrel. All rounds are loaded from the muzzle, and the family includes HE-FRAG, Illuminating, thermobaric, smoke and gas-dispensing loads.

A typical round of the VOG-25 family weighs around 250-300 grams and has a muzzle velocity of 76 m/s. For a standard HE-FRAG VOG-25 round the lethal fragmentation radius is about 6-9 meters.
