4.73×33 mm DM11 caseless

4.73×33 mm DM11 caseless cartridge was developed by German company Dynamit Nobel for Heckler-Koch G11 assault rifle. Cartridge has rectangular shape, with square cross-section of about 8x8mm, 33 mm long, formed from specially designed HITP propellant. Rear end of the cartridge held a primer, front end was covered by a plastic cap. Bullet was completely ‘buried’ inside the propellant block. Numerous problems, associated with caseless technlogy, precluded its adoption in Germany and elsewhere.
